Mahamudra - calm placement and insightful direct investigation of the nature of Mind
and
LamRim - stages on the path to enlightenment.
The group is lead by Graham Smetham who devoted many years to the
exploration of the connections between modern quantum theory and the
history of Buddhist philosophy.
Graham will introduce the purpose and method of meditations and each session will include a 30-40 mins meditation.
The first part of the
evening will be a talk by Graham on topics drawn from the material of
his forthcoming book `Dancing in Emptiness: Reality Revealed at the
Interface of Quantum Physics and Buddhist Philosophy`. This will be
followed, hopefully, by a lively discussion of the implications of this
perspective for our everyday lives.
The group meets at the
Brighton Anahata Clinic every Friday 8pm - 10pm. The group is free,
although donantions for adminstration,dharma materials which will be
available are welcome.
